I easily admit that I am a bad investor at least in my garden. I do not know how much I have spent on it, and have no idea how much profits I am making out of it. People might say that it doesn't really matter because that is one of my hobbies. That's true. However, it would be even more exciting if I know the real benefits of it, or not?
Investment in the garden includes such items as fertilizers, soil, seeds and seedling. The problem is that even myself cannot expect when I want to buy them. I just buy them whenever I feel like it. In recent months, as long as fertilizers and soil are concerned, I am happy with my strategy. These have been solely produced and brought to my garden with the help of a friend of mine "Mimi-chan (compost worm)" since they went into full activity a few months ago.
After all, when it comes to gardening, one of the most important key words is sustainability. I am now considering to bring this idea of sustainability into seeds and seedling as well. By doing this way, my garden will complete the whole sustainable system by itself. Is this a pipe drem?

I was so happy today to open your blog and find three new topics! I will probably leave a comment on each topic.
As to whether or not you are making a profit with your gardening, I do believe strongly there are two great benefits to you and your family in having your own garden and growing your own produce.
The first, is that gardeners are known to be calm people, so you are not smoking cigarettes nor drinking alcohol; you are definitely a calm person.
The second point is that what you are growing is "organic", you are not using fertilisers (many of which are prohibited) and you know exactly what you are putting into your garden.
Your family are also having great benefit from working in the garden with you and being involved in watering, picking and eating also.
I do hope you continue to find the time and space to continue your gardening.
Hi, Peta.
I totally agree with all the points you raised for the benefits of making your own vegetable in your own garden. Thank you for reminding me once again.
Growing vegetables is increasingly becoming popular even among people living in cities. I think that more and more people are finding it interesting and beneficiary for us. I think that this trend will continue, as we are being more careful about what to eat, where it comes from.
